Empowering Communities: November Highlights of DEAL Foundation’s Initiatives in Gadag District

Deal Foundation is working in 7 talukas of Gadag district and details of the activities and events in the month of November:–

1) The following are the details of the formation of the Self Help Society of the Handicapped and Women in the month of November.

In this month, a total of 6 self-help societies have been formed in Gadag, Mundaragi and Shirahatti taluks with 64 members, 2 self-help societies for disabled persons with a total of 22 disabled members. 4 Mahila Self Help Society 42 members The purpose of this society is to take loans from the bank for self-employment by disabled members and to do many other activities such as dairying, agriculture, sheep and goat rearing.

4) Shree Huchireshwar Mahila Self Help Society Nergal Town/ Gajendragarh and

5) Durga Devi Mahila Self Help Society Kotabala Taluk Rona and

6) Shirdi Saibaba Mahila Self Help Society Kotabala Taluka Rona

2) In Shirahatti and Gajendragad, Naragunda, Mundargi taluk, Total 0 Association of Disabled Persons Total 0 Association 3 Women Self Help Association 30 members Depositing money to do financial business. Withdrawal In order to avail bank loan facility, Karnataka Vikas Grameen Bank has opened a savings account in the name of the association in Canara Bank.

1) Sri Banashankari Devi Mahila Self Help Society Taluk Rona and

2) Durga Devi Mahila Self Help Society Kotabala Taluk Rona and

3) Shirdi Saibaba Mahila Self Help Society Kotabala Taluka Rona

3) In this month, in Shirahatti and Gadag, Mundaragi taluk, total 0 disabled members and 10 female members have taken loans from 10 banks.

1) In Naragunda Shirahatti Mundaragi taluks, 2 Disability Self Help Sangha for total 22 members, 1 Mahila Sangha for 10 members and awareness training for disabled people, economic finance training and leadership training. Entrepreneurship training and sustainable livelihood training were conducted for members of the disabled group

1) Shri Lakshmi Vikalchethan Self Help Society Machenahalli Taluk, Shirahatti and

2) Kamadhenu Mahila Self Help Sangh Betgeri Tha/ Gadag and

3) Shambhavi Self Help Society of Handicapped Hatalageri Taluk

4) A board meeting was held at the Secured Credit Cooperative Society at Mevundi village in Mundaragi taluk and the working activities of the society were discussed in the meeting.

5) Eco Samridhi Farmer Producers Company Limited Mevundi Taluk Mundari and Sortur Integrated Horticulture Farmers Producers Company Sortur Ta/Gadag and Shirahatti.

A meeting of the board of directors was held and a newspaper was sold for the farmers.

6) Swavalambana Award workshop was held on the premises of Gadag Agricultural Research Centre

Chancellor and Professor from Agricultural University Dharwad and Chancellor of Karnataka State Rural Development Organization and officials from other government departments participated in this workshop and deal.The Foundation is functioning as an organization People with disabilities from seven taluks of Gadag district and members of Mahila Self Help Society participated. 8 Self Help Societies who performed well in this received prizes.

7) Preparation of earthworm manure in the tank of Deal Foundation organization and removing the manure and putting it in three acres of tank and selling the earthworm manure in the exhibition and to the handicapped families and self help.

8) Deal Foundation has started a sewing training center for disabled families and women at Mevundi, which has been running for four consecutive years. Deal-Foundation Mevundi -Tailoring Unit class

Here are the highlights for next month:

  • 20 new self help groups including 200 persons with disabilities will be established.
  • Financial inclusion and bank linkage for 10 SHGs.
  • To impart capacity building and livelihood training to 20 groups.
  • To continue sewing training and garment making services at Mevundi.
  • Continuation of earthworm composting work
  • Farmer Producers Company Recruiting 250 new members (FPO work.)
  • Collaborative Work Sharing Total Collecting Work 50
  • 10 groups awareness training and group wise training
  • To continue the activities of Aramba Self Employed Center (ASK Center) and to locate the office of Aramba Saudoga Kendra in Rona.
  • Conducting a preliminary meeting to register district cooperative work with other taluks except Mundaragi.
  • Swavalambana Award program at Gadag by Dil-Foundation organization to enroll about 250 members from seven taluks.
