June 2022 Event Highlights

New groups formation:

During the month 30 women formed three self-help groups in Doni, Eklasapur and Baradur villages in Gadag district to examine suitable livelihood options.

Group bank account opening:

Two self-help groups Arundathi SHG from Baradur village  and Adishakti SHG from Doni village took their first step towards financial inclusion by opening their group bank accounts at KCC bank in Mundargi taluk.

Bank loan linkage:

Two groups, Shri Gowri JLG and Sainatha JLG applied for group bank loan at Mevundi bank to start dairy activities.

Visit to Gram Panchayat:

We visited Mundargi Hobli Gram Panchayat to collect information on persons with disabilities from the Panchayat Development Officer (POD) and Village Rehabilitation Workers (VRWs)

Disability awareness training:

We visited nineteen Gram Panchayats to create awareness of 21 types of disabilities as per RPWD Act 2016.

Banking awareness and financial inclusion training:

In collaboration with Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank, we conducted banking awareness and financial inclusion training for forty women members.

Village visits:

Along with members of SELCO Foundation, we visited homes in four villages to discuss with those interested in securing solar powered photo copiers, roti making machines and tailoring machines.

Leadership and entrepreneurship training:

During the month we conducted leadership and entrepreneurship training to members of two joint liability groups.

Groups monthly meetings:

We conducted monthly meetings with members of Joint liability groups and self-help groups at Dambal village in Gadag district.

Sesame seed distribution:

In collaboration with Agriculture Extension Education Center Gadag, we distributed sesame seeds to disabled and women farmers.

Vermicompost:

Vermicompost harvesting and pit filling work continued at our agriculture and horticulture plot at Mevundi village in Gadag district.

Tailoring training:

Tailoring training activities continued at our tailoring and apparel training unit at Mevundi village in Gadag district.
