Make the most of this opportunity:

Following on from my previous blog, I sometimes wonder if most of us make use of the opportunities that come our way? Or we wait for the right one to come along?

If truth be told, the answer lies somewhere in the middle.

Sometimes we jump at the opportunity and at other times we let the opportunity pass.

Our decision whether to take or let go of the opportunities that come our way is undoubtedly based on a number of considerations. Without going into these now, it would be enough to say that whenever one takes a conscious decision to make the most of an opportunity, they are showing tremendous courage.

Just imagine, one sets off and they are not sure of what they may find along the way.

While this could be unsettling for some, others may find it adventurous.

It is all about getting out of your comfort zone.

I was present at the ‘Creating sustainable rural livelihoods workshop held at Gadag on 21 November 2019.The event was an opportunity for over a hundred delegates (people with disabilities) from Gadag District to aspire for something more than they already have.

The event was a success as its organisers and others taking part in it came away from the event fully inspired to change the status co be it at a personal, community or at the wider social level.

To find out more about the event, and watch what I thought was an original performance about lived experiences of people with disabilities please click on the link below.

Just one more thing, let me know how you got on with it.
