Joint Liability Groups formation
During the month, 11 people from Eklasapur village formed 2 Joint Liability Groups to examine suitable livelihood options.
Bank linkage for Joint Liability Group
A Joint Liability group named ‘Shri Gowri JLG’ from Mevundi village with a total of five members successfully availed a bank loan of one lakh for dairy and sheep rearing and petty shop business.
JLG bank opening activities
The other main event during the month was a Joint Liability group of five members have taken the first step to financial inclusion by opening JLG bank account.
Capacity building training for Joint Liability Groups
We conducted ‘Capacity building’ training for six Joint Liability groups in Petaluru and Eklasapur villages during the month of March.
International Women’s Day Programme
International Women’s Day programme was held at Eklasapur and Hulakoti villages. It was a day long programme with a lot of competitions and fun games. The theme of the programme was ‘Women Empowerment’ and ‘Financial Inclusion’.
Farmer Producer Organization awareness
Farmer Producer Organization awareness meet was held in Hulkoti town in Gadag district. DEAL Foundation staff along with local farmers attended this awareness programme.
Maize crop harvesting
Maize crop harvesting at DEAL Foundation’s ‘Parisara Sannidhi’ project area in Mevundi Village in Gadag district.
Entrepreneurship Development Training
A two-week ‘Entrepreneurship Development’ training was held for people with disabilities at Hulkoti in Gadag district.
Vermicompost and Ajola Unit
During the month Joint Liability Group members visited the vermicompost and Ajola unit.
Apiculture / bee-keeping training
A two-day Apiculture / beekeeping training for local farmers conducted by MYRADA Green College in Holalkere town near Chitradurga
